Media Consumption:
YouTube- I’m not a huge YouTube watcher, but sometimes when I’m cooking or getting ready in the morning it’s nice to have on in the background. Here are some of my favorite channels:
-Lauren Louise (aka bigbooklady) is one of my favorite comfort youtubers
-Nina Montagne I recently discovered her page and wowww her videos calm me down anytime I’m feeling anxious.
-Dakota Warren (lady dakota) is another favorite. She talks a lot about books and the writing process.
-Alison Roman: she’s my favorite food youtuber and I could watch her videos all day. If you haven’t heard or seen alison roman’s content, please please please go check her out. I trust her and all of her recipes.
-Mina Le (aka gremlita) is the queen of video essays and I also appreciate her perspective and point of view.
-this is niche, but I really enjoy vintage cooking videos from martha stewart and mary berry and ina garten. I also love the NYT Cooking show and old Bon Appetit videos with all the OJ editors (and yes, I know Rapoport is problematic).
Podcasts- Here are some shows I’ve been listening to lately:
-Wellness: Fact vs Fiction: Dr. Danielle Belardo is a Cardiologist who debunks wellness trends and promotes fact-based science by discussing health related topics with other physicians.
-Dear Sugar: Cheryl Strayed and Steve Almond discuss radical empathy and give advice.
-Goes Without Saying: Two girlfriends in their late twenties talk about life. This is my favorite comfort podcast show.
-Critics At Large: Staff writers at The New Yorker discuss weekly culture topics.
Okay, that’s all I have for today. Tell me your thoughts, opinions, etc (I love hearing from you and my inbox is always open)
