Hello.

A fun reader style q&a then some news.

What kind of reader am I?

-morning or evening?

All day? Whenever I have time?

-coffee or matcha?

Coffee first, then matcha or tea. I have a Nespresso machine I love for its convenience. Fortnum and Mason is probably my favorite tea brand.

-audiobooks or e-books?

Both. I love the feel of a book in my hands and I enjoy annotating, but my adhd loves audiobooks because I can multitask.

-fiction or nonfiction?

I’m a mood reader. I love both. The pandemic forced me to broaden my horizons and I fell in love with fiction (literary fiction, russian lit, and classics, especially).

-paperback or hardcover?

Paperback always.

-new release or old release?

Old. Used. Well-loved.

-emotional or happy?

I want to feel something. If I’m feeling anxious, I’ll read a magazine or cookbook.

-silence or noise?

It depends. Sometimes I’ll curate playlists for specific books. Sometimes I enjoy silence. Sometimes I’ll listen to coffee shop asmr. If it’s a big brain book, I need silence.

-bookmark or dogear?

Whatever is within reach.

-mood reader or tbr?

I curate my tbr based on my different moods so I’ll always have options to choose from. I’m a mood reader through and through.

-genre I stay away from?

Sci fi (but I can appreciate magical realism).

-worst habits as a reader?

Impulsively buying books even though I have a towering tbr pile.

-do I read used books?

Yes! And I love finding previous readers’ annotations.

-favorite book from last year?

A Breath Of Life by Clarice Lispector

-favorite classics?

The Brothers Karamazov by Fyoder Dostoyevsky, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, The Second Sex by Simone De Beauvoir

-books I always recommend?

The classics I love ^^

News:

The Geek-Chic Glasses Renaissance

The fashion world is witnessing a resurgence in geek-chic glasses, a style that was popular in the early 2000s. These slim, horn- or wire-rimmed glasses, reminiscent of the "Bayonetta" video game character, are part of a microtrend known as the "Office Siren" look. Celebrities like Bella Hadid, Gabbriette, Doja Cat, Reneé Rapp, and Emma Chamberlain have been seen sporting this style. The trend, which blends a sexy, business casual vibe, was notably featured in Miu Miu's Fall 2023 show and has sparked increased interest and searches online.
