a delusional post-unemployment wish list

Hello.

I love shopping. And I want to shop even more now that I’ve recently been laid off. In a past life, I would say fuck it, and bought my feelings. But instead of screwing myself, I’m going to make a list and share it with you instead.

You know what I was recently thinking about? You know how when you’re a teen and you’re angsty and angry and you hate the world and you listen to emo music and the whole experience encompasses what it means to be a terribly misunderstood delinquent trying to navigate the world around you?

It’s the teen who made sad music playlists and worshiped effy stonem from skins uk and went to concerts every weekend. Well, these teens eventually grew up, right? As adults, how are they coping now? As adults, it’s not cute to act like an angsty little teen even though you have moments when you desperately want to.

Anyways, here is my delusional post-funemployment wish list:

-sony alpha 7c ii camera: I would give anything for this camera. I’ve been wanting to explore photography and film on a more deeper and intimate level for funsies, but boy, she’s pricey.  

 

-reike nen bow flats: I’m so in love with these.

-varsity denim jacket: I love the look of these jackets. They must be super oversized.

-adrianne lenker tickets!!!!! If I’m feeling sad and I want the audio version of what it feels like to be hugged by the most kind caring loving human in the world where I could cry on her chest and she would play with my hair and rub my back and lay with me in silence, Adrianne Lenker is who I’m listening to. I love her so much. I love her so much it hurts. I’ll be seeing her in concert this year.

-candle warmer: So my house doesn’t burn down.

-more catbird permanent jewelry: I loved getting zapped at Catbird. I want to go back and get 5 more little permanent bracelets.

-catbird star charm: Catbird can add bb charms to your bracelets. I want the star.  

-tooth charm: I would also like a tooth charm on my bracelet.

-rode microphone: Why do I need a mini mic to feel like I can show up on tiktok and create long form video content so I can talk to you in a more intimate and sentimental way? idk.. 

-fruit riot sour grapes: I don’t care about how overhyped these are on tiktok, I love sour candy and I love they way they rip my mouth apart and strip my tongue of all her taste buds and how I continue to eat more despite the fact that I’m in pain.

-yakult candle: I drink Yakult every day. I love the taste and it brings me comfort. A Yakult candle? YES. There are a few I found here and here.  

-gods favorite hat: Don’t ask me why I need this hat, I just do.

-gardana clogs: Be still my heart, I’ve been obsessed with these for a long time and they’re always sold out. Perfect for spring. Perfect for summer. Perfect for rainy days or gardening even if you don’t have a garden.

-escapade gourmande maison mataha: I’m not typically a gourmand vanilla perfume girl, but this perfume is very comforting to me. It kind of reminds me of Pink Sugar (that fragrance we all loved when we were teens). It’s not a heavy gourmand. It’s like a creme brulee with a burnt sugar note that feels like a warm embrace.

-doen ischia dress: A spring gothic victorian dress fit for a princess? Yes, please.

-alex g tickets!!! There are few artists I fall hard for. Alex G is one of them. I have never felt more understood by an artist in my entire life and when I listen to him I feel less alone and if I met him irl I would die and not say anything because I’m too afraid but I would observe and pretend in my head that I had the courage to say hello. Anyways I have a private spotify playlist and I’ll share with you because I love you. He is on tour this year and I will be seeing him in concert for my birthday.

-GH Bass loafers: I need a fancy loafer to make me feel like I have my life together.  

-jstor hat and tote bag: This is a niche publications for true article nerds.

-lorna nightgown salter house: A summer gothic victorian ghost night dress to wear during the day while running errands.

-new bedding: This feels like a necessary purchase at this point. I love the linen parachute bedding, but I’m curious to try other brands. Parachute is also really expensive compared to other brands. I’ve had my eye on Piglet in Bed. This oatmeal set is pretty and simple. I’m in love with this mushroom gingham linen set. This green stripe set is cute, too.
