hello.
my birthday is this month. so i’m sharing an overly ambitious and unrealistic wishlist with you today.
birthday wishlist:Â
-annual membership nypl: it feels like a nice add on to my nypl card
-in the kitchen with love by sophia loren: this book has been on my wishlist for over a year, but the price is steep
-a used bookstore shopping spree: like an unlimited budget to wander around my favorite bookstores and buy an unlimited amount of books to add to my ever-growing tbr list
-film camera: something like an olympus om-4
-baggu peanuts collection (specifically the great pumpkin bag and fanny pack): i need this collection biblically
-doen shopping spree (i have my eye on this piece, this one, and this one)
-salter house Lorna nightgown: they’re sold out now, but will be restocking this month. i have the wendy nightgown and always makes me feel like a victorian ghost anytime i wear it. also from salter house, this candle - i smelled it in their store and it’s sensational
-a trip to casa magazines: to buy a behemoth stack of magazines that i will devour throughout the rest of the year
-eberjey pajamas: a short pair and a long pair. if any of you have any other recommendations for cozy pajamas, please comment below
-six penny neva day bed: this is ridiculously expensive and i don’t think i could ever drop this much money on a reading chair, but one can dream
-sony hd handycam: something to play around with and film fun adventures
-salomon sneakers: i want to be a cool girl, too
-meeting ina garten; i would like to visit her in the hamptons, cook breakfast with her in the morning, go to stissing house for dinner, drink wine and talk about food (this is my ultimate birthday wish btw) or securing second hand tickets to her book tour event in nyc
-haricot vert jewelry: i’m leaving you with this link to explore their kitschy website. i want to visit their nyc location and make cute jewelry
-tickets to the nyc ballet: a dream solo or friend date night, especially for the nutcracker, or swan lake (my favorite, which i missed this year again)
-studio rua jewelry: so many beautiful pieces here. i love this moon pendant
-my dream loafers: these have been on my wishlist for so long. they’re pricey, but i would wear them forever
-a historical home in new england: dream with me. like something out of a nancy meyers or nora ephron film. a home that feels loved and lived in filled with books and antiques. a place where my neighbors are like family and we have weekly dinner parties together. the seasons are present and show off their charms and quirks throughout the year. a fireplace, some exposed brick, and an open kitchen with the perfect beam of sunlight that welcomes you each morning. truly, a dream…
-buly1803 brush: i’ve wanted this for so long. i love how you can customize it. also, i have the cult lip balm and get compliments on this frequently
-fizcarraldo edition books: i’m not a color person, but this beautiful shade of blue deserves a special place in my libraryÂ
-mubi subscription: i love criterion and as i’ve developed my love for film, i’m curious to explore mubiÂ
-forest green wellies: these are from salter house. these are an og favorite and they’re on sale
-yuni buffa Lola ballet flats: i want these so badly- another forever shoe option. and i just realized how many shoe items were on my wishlist. i don’t even consider myself a shoe obsessed girlie, but here we are
-six bells antique home haul: i would like my entire home to be filled with goodies from the six bells. this is one of my favorite makers. i have the apple bowls. he made this one, too
-lego chess set: if you know me, you understand
-unlimited budget for autumn and halloween shopping: this goes without saying, right? i want to buy tons of antique decor and decorate my entire apartment and be able to throw cute autumnal themed dinner parties for friends and have a big halloween party. (i’m making an autumn wish list that i’ll be sending out shortly) Â
-orpheon diptyque perfume: i have the shower gel that i’ve raved on about multiple times, but now that autumn is approaching, i need to add this to my perfume collection. she lives up to the hype, trust me
-a new job that doesn’t make me want to unalive myself: hoping and praying to universe above that market starts improving next monthÂ
-a bookshelf to give my books a home: any suggestions? i want an antique one. i’ve been hunting through facebook marketplace for options. Â
-new bedding: piglet in bed mushroom gingham or berry for fall, also check out how beautiful this bedding is from garbo & friends. i’ve also heard great things about quince.
-Lenox village spice set: you’re going to die when you see the price of this thing, but it’s such a cute vintage collectors item
-more of you: yes, you. every time i get a new subscriber, it sparks so much joy. it makes writing feel exponentially more special.
okay, that’s all for today. this list is ever-growing with things i’ll never buy, but i can dream.
