love letter from my hotel room, manifestation dressing, what the ultra rich wear to the grocery store, and more
Hello.
Did you enjoy your weekend?
I’m writing to you from a fancy hotel room and I feel like a princess.
Are you fond of hotels, too?
Staying at a hotel is the only time I allow my virgo-like tendencies to fall by the wayside. I’ll wake up and romanticize eating a fancy breakfast in bed (not too heavy- something simple like or a broiled grapefruit topped with bruleed sugar, a pastry of some sort, orange juice and hot coffee) while reading a book and the paper. I don’t make the bed in the morning. I take long, luxurious everything showers- basically the antithesis of my regular morning routine that consists of a blaring 5:45am alarm, a cardio heavy workout, a strict tidying up/ getting ready routine then a frantic dash to work. I’m undeniably a perfectionist in the most annoying virgo-like way. But alas, I’m here in this hotel room writing to you and my entire aura inside and out is calm and content.
I’ll be sending out substack publications I love and recommend in tomorrow’s newsletter so stay tuned for that.
Until then, I’m going to enjoy the rest of this morning reading and writing.
Today’s News:
Well well well…
The paradox of rest, as explored by Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, lies in its essential yet elusive nature in our high-speed, productivity-obsessed culture, challenging us to reconceptualize rest not as a luxury or afterthought but as a crucial, active component of a fulfilling and sustainable life. This reevaluation demands a disciplined approach to integrating rest into our daily routines, leveraging it not only as a counterbalance to work but as a vital ingredient for creativity, longevity, and overall well-being, thereby transforming rest from an art to a science in the quest for a balanced existence.

This narrative serves as a reminder that the pursuit of high-ranking positions should be tempered with an understanding of the inherent challenges and personal sacrifices involved, urging individuals to weigh the holistic implications of such roles on their well-being and happiness.

Coming Of Age: Representing The Older Generation
In this essay, the author critically examines the fashion industry's portrayal of aging, highlighting the trend of 'ageless' models and its implications. Why Rich People Don’t Cover Their Windows
This article examines the trend among wealthy individuals to leave their windows uncovered, an emerging status symbol in high-end homes. The lack of curtains or shades in affluent neighborhoods is not just about aesthetic choices, but also reflects a class-driven approach to privacy and security. Wealthy homeowners often have large homes with multiple rooms and windows, offering both natural light and privacy. Additionally, with access to advanced security systems, they feel less need for window coverings as a protective measure. What The Ultrarich Wear To The Grocery Store
The "Class of Palm Beach" social media phenomenon represents a modern intersection of fashion and digital voyeurism, where the opulent lifestyles of the wealthy are both idolized and scrutinized through the lens of luxury fashion. This trend underscores a broader societal fascination with affluence and status, amplified by the accessibility and visual-centric nature of platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
