I have never subbed to anything in my life but your posts have this ineffable quality that hits the exact right spot. Emphasis on seasonal gratitudes. I’m going to bake something with blueberries in it for my kids tonight.

Bravo! You did it again. I am a true fall person. For most of everything you wrote. I enjoy the smell of all those things in the food you listed. The cool air, and coming in from outside to the smells of fresh baked treats or soups. It is the very best ever. You are right about books and shows. It is something about how you feel not just emotionally but in the way it just feels temperature and the mood of the season. It is hard to explain but if you know it, you feel it. I enjoy the at the right time, and only during the fall, apple cider and fresh plain donuts with it. To me, that is nothing but fall. Enjoy and looking forward to much more from you.

Oh I love Miranda July and I haven’t read All Fours yet! Ah the summer to autumn transition…I just bought some boots on clearance from last fall in anticipation of it. It’s going to be like two full months until I can wear them but when I do it’s gonna be sooo good lol

Wonderful! For me the transition has always been odd. I grew up in Louisiana, which doesn’t have much of a traditional fall, and now live in Greece, so I don’t get the fall transition until later in the year! It’s so interesting to watch people in more temperate climates gearing up for cool weather while I plan my next trip to the beach!

Definitely will be using some of your ideas when the weather eventually does cool down here (though I am a summer island girl through and through)

Last September I wrote about how difficult the transition between summer and autumn is for me so this resonated with me so much. I cannot wait to implement these little practices! You're a gem
