hello.
i’m expanding on a note i wrote earlier this week.
before i do so, it was evident that many of you enjoyed yesterday’s post: to make you smarter. and i’m not surprised because many of you are smart, educated, empowered, driven, determined, beautiful humans who crave knowledge and want nothing more than to be able to shut men up at a bar who try to mansplain things they assume you know nothing about.
these analytics excite me because it inspires me to share more with you. more recommendations for books, video essays, podcasts, and other resources on the internet to feed that curious brain of yours. i’ll be posting more newsletters like this in the very near future so stay tuned for that. if you have any special requests for recommendations, please comment below and let me know.
for today, something lighter and comforting- a little list of things i’ve been enjoying as of late.
things i’ve been loving lately:
-watching a film in the afternoon with my daughter: yesterday we watched juno (2007) (one of my favorite films of all time), and today we’ll be watching princess mononoke (1997)
-making homemade coffee cake: i’ll share the recipe in my notes today and if i forget, send me a messageÂ
-warm milk with cinnamon and honey before bed: have you tried this yet? it feels like a warm hug and it will bring you sweet dreams
-daydreaming about autumn: you, too, right?
-writing to you: one of my favorite hours of the dayÂ
-long outdoor walks: i make it a point to walk multiple times of day and one of these walks must be done in a park or somewhere closer to nature. it helps reset my brain. often times i’ll listen to a podcast or audiobook
-the juice that drips down your chin after biting into a ripe peach: it’s stone fruit season and i hope all of you are taking full advantage of the delicious fruits at your local farmers marketÂ
-utilizing the internet for good and teaching myself a deeper understanding on the subjects that interest me: physics, literature, philosophy, language, history, etc: yesterday’s post <3
-biting a cherry and using the other half to stain my lips and cheeks: i know you’ve seen hot girls doing this on tiktok. i tried it the other day out of curiosity. a fleeting moment of joy in the afternoon
-wearing white linen nightgowns to feel like a victorian ghost: i do this all year longÂ
-listening to classical music: my classical playlist on rotation. this is another good one i made with dark academia vibes
-prioritizing reading and writing every day: when people ask how do you read so much, the answer is as simple and as difficult as making it a priority every single day. you know your schedule better than anyone else and i encourage you to write it out on paper and see where you can squeeze in some time for your beloved booksÂ
-balmy nights and summer thunderstorms: oh, this mood always. you’re welcome Â
-making secret pinterest boards and playlists: if you’re not doing this, you most definitely should try it and see how much joy and comfort it bring you, especially as you’re winding down for the evening. Â
-the prospect of writing a novel: this is something i’ve wanted to do my whole life, and i think i might be feeling ready… question mark?Â
-binchtopia: this is a podcast for hot, smart, funny girlsÂ
okay, that’s all for today. tell me what you’re loving lately in the comments.
if you’re not ready to become a paid subscriber and you have the capacity to leave a tip, that would be so appreciated. <3
i love you.
bye.
How strange, I haven't thought of Juno in years yet found myself singing the soundtrack to my own daughter yesterday. Maybe we're cosmically linked somehow (or did you post a note about it and I've forgotten?)🔮
Great post, always love your updates
I love this. Every time I list things I love or I’m grateful for when trying to work on my mindset, I find myself falling into it. I expand on the things I love because it’s easy to get excited about them
