I adore Rebecca - and I wrote my first master's thesis on The Bluest Eye, so I have a particular relationship with Morrison and this incredibly sad, carefully crafted story. Thanks for all the recommendations!
I want to create. I have stuff to say. I’m also dyslexic and just can’t get past the feeling of dread hitting post. So I get stuck looking at everyone else’s cringy rubbish.
So many of these are already on my TBR--The Brothers Karamazov, The Book of Disquiet, anything by Clarice Lispector, Babel, The Second Sex, and The Myth of Sisyphus. I own most of those and can't wait to get to them. The fall and winter months are truly the best time to read.
Eeeeeeeh I LOVE coraline, I studied the book and film in high school - we had a genuinely insane English teacher - and the movie is still one of my comfort watches. I’m rereading Dorian Grey at the moment, another fave of mine! Impeccable list💕
Thank you! Rebecca is on my 'to read list'. I love the authors writing style - I've recently read Jamaca Inn, too! The BluestvEye sounds good, but does it have a nice ending? (Or at least semi-nice, bittersweet at most? (feeling like a bit of a wimp atm! 😅)
As a portuguese, thank you for suggesting Fernando Pessoa and his Book of Disquiet - Livro do Desassossego. I believe it deserves to reach more people around the world who love to read.

How do I get past this?
I loved Rebecca and want to read more by du Maurier. I added the rest of these to my list! Would add "The Secret History" and "A Room of One's Own"

I will also be reading Babel and The Brothers Karamazov this year. :)

The Bluest Eye is the saddest book that I read during my literature degree! I love it!
I see sooo many from my TBR. 📚🤩
Also, White Nights was my 5 star read too. I read it last year. 📚
Added the bluest eye to my cart
