If you’re still struggling with nihilism it might help to reread some Nietzsche, I’m thinking specifically of Thus Spoke Zarathustra. People often say he’s the cure for nihilism, since he believes in the heroic power of creating your own meaning. On the other hand in might just help to throw on the moomins again, it always cures my blues. Thank you for another great essay!

I've been wondering about your Middlemarch progress! I read it last year (during the same exact time of year!) and consider it my best reading accomplishment of 2024.

It helped me to remember that it was published in serial form with 8 books. That allowed me to pace myself and just enjoy all of the character clusters and the slow examination of how all their various lives were intertwined.

After I finished it I found a multi part tv series that I thought did a good job with it.

The flowers are starting to come up in the Jefferson Market Garden. A sure sign of Spring. 💐
